2021 Graduation Speech by GPS Class Topper

On Saturday, September 25th 2021, GPS hosted a small graduation ceremony for our 2021 graduating class who did not receive a proper ceremony due to the pandemic lockdowns.
The below speech was written and delivered by Bhuvaneshwari P., our class topper for the graduating class of 2021. Bhuvaneshwari joined GPS in grade 2 in 2010 after previously attending the Chettipalayam Government Primary School. She lives in the Anna Nagar Settlement area with her parents and has one older sister. Her father is a driver and her mother is a day labourer who makes cottage industry items. Bhuvaneshwari has grown immensely since her start at GPS. She is a talented student and a resilient person who makes the best of the opportunities that come her way. As she embarks on life post-graduation, we have no doubt that she will continue to seize opportunities that will help her advance towards her dreams.
Good morning to one and all gathered here. It gives me great pleasure to stand here today in front of you to share a few words.
GPS made me understand that education is not life. Education is a life itself.
GPS gave me every essential thing to survive. As you know I scored the highest mark in grade 12 and I got an admission in one of the best institutions with full scholarship at Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, in Coimbatore.
GPS totally changed my life. I could not imagine life like this without GPS. On this very special day I take huge pleasure to thank our donors and trustees for helping us financially for our education. A huge thanks to our Principal Jim Sir. You’ve always been amazing. I can say that you’re my well wisher, a kind hearted person, and you have been a great supporter always. I also like to thank our admin staff who helped us get ready for our day to day education.
Next, I would like to thank my teachers. My greatest inspiration and supporters. You teachers always went an extra mile to help me understand concepts. Without your encouragement and guidance, I would not be standing here.
Thank you caretakers and canteen staff for looking after us like we were your own children and for preparing delicious meals every day.
Thank you to my classmates. We always helped and supported one another.
GPS gave me wonderful memories which I’ll never forget. The only thing I’m able to give back right now is to work harder and harder and make my school and teachers proud. I believe one day I would be able to give back or sponsor at least a student for their education at GPS.
Thank you all once again. I’ll miss you!
